Phase relations in the aluminum carbide-aluminum nitride-aluminum oxide system

The phase diagram of the pseudobinary Al_4C_3-AIN system was predicted using thermodynamic models. It was com- bined with previous thermodynamic descriptions of the pseudobinary Al_4C_3-Al_2O_3 and AIN-Al_2O_3 systems, and then thermodynamic properties of the pseudoternary Al_4C_3AIN-Al_2O_3 system were assessed by modeling the Gibbs energy of the various phases.
