Attracted by a book on cake decorating, Manuela Silvia Taddeo decided to learn as much as she could about the medium that had captured her attention-royal icing. Her list of instructors is impressive: Kristina Rado, Donatella Semalo, Claudia Prati, an eight-day boot-camp with Kathleen Lange, and even traveling to England for two classes with the great master Eddie Spence, MBE. In 2012 she and a partner, Barbara Borghi launched Mabanuby, with Manuela is focused on modeling and royal icing designs, while Barbara specializes in florals. In 2014. the two opened a retail bakery in Milan and Manuela recently won first place in the Royal Icing on a Cake category at the recent Cake Design festival, held this past October in Milan.
