The Zeoto Pen is a heat-decorating tool, ideal for carving designs into chocolate, ganache, isomalt, royal icing, and more. Perfect for adding textures like this steampunk cake by Mayra and scratch-artstyle designs to cake, you can even use the Zeoto pen to help sculpt and add texture when working with modeling chocolate. It is most effective, just like the scratch technique in any craft medium, when you layer color, so that when you remove the top layer of your design with the Zeoto Pen, you leave a different color design on show. I have yet to try the pen with isomalt, but after watching Simi Cakes work with the tool, it’s definitely on my to-do list for the holiday season this year.
