摘要

In the automation of the manufacture of aluminium bars a basic task is the temperature measurement and control. Contactless measurement of the temperature of aluminium bars as they exit an extruder is crucial for optimal extruder control. Due to the low and non-constant emissivity of the surface of the bar which varies with the composition, surface finish and geometry, conventional ratio pyrometers and total radiation pyrometers fail to offer the desired measurement accuracy.
