摘要

The characteristics of solidification structures in a DC-cast AA3003 extrusion billet have been quantitatively investigated. The variation of secondary dendrite arm spacing, grain size, matrix composition, electrical conductivity as well as size characteristics of primary particles through the thickness of the billet have been measured. The mechanism of the variation of the structures in the billet is discussed. The influence of the solidification structures on the electrical conductivity and constituent particles after homogenization has also been investigated.
