A short note to congratulate Captain Schiff on a well-written article 'Inform Your Passengers' (December 2011) which, if not already incorporated into airline training manuals, should be front and center in the public relations and perhaps even marketing sections of those manuals. It's sad to realize that the common sense espoused by Schiff needs to be put into writing from time to time. Many pilots fail to realize what a positive impact they can actually have on their flights if they take a few moments to communicate with their passengers.
