Most non-pilots see the pilot's life as something to envy. They think all pilots make big bucks and work only two days a week; that we mostly just sit around and try to discover new links between the terms 'flight attendant' and 'layover'. It seems that our lives are filled with an abundance of good luck, where nothing bad ever happens. Well, that sounds good, but in reality our lives are pretty much like everyone else's.
