TPS To Build Landmark Tower

British consultanttps has started work on a new development at Muscat International Airport, Sultanate of Oman, which will include a new air traffic control tower, an air transport management complex, a contingency and training centre, plus fire and sea rescue facilities. The project was procured under a design and build contract and is part of a wider redevelopment scheduled for completion in 2014, which will allow the airport to handle 12 million passengers per year. Standing at just less than 328ft (100m) in height, the new ATC tower will be the tallest occupied building in Oman's capital, Muscat. It will be located to the south of the new passenger terminal's west pier and linked to the terminal building by a glazed bridge link.
