Environmental Challenges at Airports: Beyond Regulations and Technologies

As environmental stewards, airports have an important role in continuing to foster better environmental performance and improved practices while focusing on safety. Our airports have taken on this challenge and continue to seek innovative and practicable solutions to the numerous challenges they face. As the regulatory landscape shifts towards more stringent requirements, our airports continue to look for win-win solutions, negotiate reasonable and achievable policies and invest in state-of-the-art technologies. However, regulations and technologies alone will not solve the challenges we face; we need to work together and learn from each other's experiences to maximize the benefits of our work and help shape the regulations that affect us.
