Second A330-200 Freighter Airborne

Airbus' Second A330-200F freighter has made its first flight and joins the flight test programme and this should result in aircraft certification in mid-March. The first delivery is due to Etihad Crystal Cargo of the United Arab Emirates in the middle of the year. This second aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, while the first has Pratt & Whitney PW4000 powerplants. Internally it has a full courier section, comprising seating for six people; as well as a small galley and crew rest area. Development tasks for this aircraft will concentrate on equipment and furnishings as well as complementary 'systems' tests, including: communication; power distribution; air conditioning; smoke detection; oxygen; water; and waste.
