UK carrier Virgin Atlantic Airways is facing allegations of illegal price-fixing on the London to Hong Kong route after Cathay Pacific Airways reported the carrier to the authorities. Although the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) said in a statement that: "it should not be assumed that the parties involved have broken the law", it revealed that it had launched an investigation into business practices as far back as March 2007, when it was first approached by the Hong Kong-based carrier.
