Allegiant to fly Boeing 757s

Las vegas-based Allegiant Air has gained US FAA approval to begin operating Boeing 757-200s, the carrier's first step towards its planned launch of flights to Hawaii next summer. The company's President, Andrew Levy said, "The addition of the B757-200 into our inventory will play an important role in our future growth." Allegiant currently has a fleet of 51 McDonnell Douglas MD-80s, which do not have the range to reach Hawaii.
