Three-ship Hercules sortie

THE RAF's No 24 Squadron from RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, recently flew a rare three-ship Hercules photo sortie. As well as passing over the Severn bridges and the Bristol Estuary, the training exercise involved close formation work before dropping down to Low Flying Area 7 in South Wales and then delivering a palletised load over the Salisbury Plain Training Area. The airdropped cargo was recovered by a team from the Royal Logistic Corps. The aircraft used the callsigns 'JUKEBOX 1, 2 and 3', with the first serving as the camera ship and the second being the specially marked 'RAF100' aircraft - Hercules C5 ZH887.
