Japanese Orions visit Pakistan

TWO P-3C Orions operated by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) visited Pakistan Naval Station Mehran in Karachi on January 26. The aircraft are currently assigned to the service's Deployed Air Force for Counter Piracy Operations. The Orions took part with Pakistan Navy assets in search and rescue (SAR) and counter-piracy exercises in the North Arabian Sea as a prelude to the multinational Aman 2019 exercise, which began on February 16. The JMSDF contributed two P-3Cs to the previous Aman exercise in 2017.
