Free Spirit - newly independent Spirit AeroSystems selects a wider flightpath

Spirit AeroSytems, a former Boeing division is out to create its own brand identity, sell directly to customers and broaden its client base. You may not have heard of Spirit AeroSystems, but chances are you have met before. In June 2005 Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Wichita Division was bought for $1.5bn by Canadian investment group Onex, which initially renamed the group Mid-Western Aircraft Systems, before settling on Spirit AeroSystems. Part of every Boeing commercial aircraft in production, except the B717, has been designed and built by Spirit AeroSystems.
