In theory, the bleeding can make the boundary layers of hypersonic inlets be thinner, thus the boundary-layers separations at the entrance of the isolator occur later at the action of the backpressure, and the maximum backpressure ratio of hypersonic inlets can be enhanced in contrast with no bleeding.
