The new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has quietly been ramping up its operations at its new headquarters in Cologne ready to emerge as a fully-fledged law-making and law-enforcing agency in charge of aviation safety across the continent. We ask its new quality and standardization director, Francesco Banal, to explain how this will be achieved.
