Increased regulation threatens future airport growth

The aaa is actively participating in the Productivity Commission Review into Economic Regulation of Airport Services. This review affords industry with an excellent opportunity to discuss the regulatory environment in which airports operate and the success of unobtrusive regulation to date particularly in terms of airport infrastructure investment. Starting from a zero base at the time of privatisation, there is now a network of mature, flexible and mutually beneficial commercial arrangements negotiated between Australia's major airports and their airline customers.
