Chinese regional Sutong Airlines plans to launch in 2014

Nantong-based regional Sutong Airlines is scheduled to launch in 2014, according to the Jiangsu provincial government website. Sutong is expected to operate 30 aircraft in the first five years on regional routes from nine airports in Southeast China. It expects to expand its fleet to 100 aircraft by 2024. The new venture is subject to approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), which is expected to approve the launch as it loosens its grip on allowing new domestic startups.
