NTSB, FAA probe Southwest 737's wrong airport landing

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and FAA are investigating an incident in which a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700 landed in mid-January at the wrong Missouri airport. The aircraft, which was on a scheduled flight from Chicago Midway (MDW) to Branson Airport (BKG), landed instead at Taney County Airport (PLK), which is about 7 miles from BKG. The smaller airport's longest runway is about 3,700 feet and it is not designed to handle commercial flights.
