EPA Examines Global Health and Climate Impacts of Black Carbon Emissions

The March 2012 report shows a link between black carbon emissions, rising global temperatures, and negative human health impacts, but more research is needed to identify long-term impacts. Relatively inexpensive and available technologies for reducing black carbon emissions have cost-effective benefits to human health, but climate impacts are still unclear.
