EPA Proposes to Find Residual Risk Acceptable for Three MACT Standards

On January 9, 2012 (77 FR 1268-1318), EPA proposed to find die residual risk associated with emissions from sources regulated under three maximum achievable control technology (MACT) standards was acceptable with an ample margin of safety. In addition, the agency's technology review did not identify any developments in practices, processes, or control technology that would warrant revising the standards. The three MACT standards regulate emissions from facilities that manufacture thermoplastic resins, pesticide active ingredient production, and polyether polyols.
