Exercise Noble Ardent

RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire recently played host to Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Fighting Falcons of the Turkish and Polish air forces participating in Exercise Noble Ardent 2012. The exercise focused on the application of electronic warfare procedures and the fighters made use of the nearby RAF Spadeadam Electronic Warfare Tactics Range in Cumbria. The Turk Hava Kuwetleri (Turkish Air Force) deployment consisted of three F-16D Block 50+s (07-1017, -1024 and -1026) operated by 141 Filo 'Wolf based at Ankara-Akinci AB, which arrived at RAF Leeming on September 24. Support for the deployment was provided by a pair of Transall C160Ds (69-024 and -027) from 221 Filo Esen 'Brise' based at Kayseri-Erkilet.
