Kamov Ka-62 Displayed at Farnborough

Russian Helicopters displayed a mock-up of the new Kamov Ka-62 civil medium multi-role helicopter at Farnborough between July 9 and 15. Developed from the military Ka-60, several different versions of the Ka-62 have been proposed over the years, powered by either Russian or Western turboshafts, but none has flown so far. The latest version will be powered by two Turbomeca Ardiden 3Cs and equipped with avionics supplied by Transas of St Petersburg. Details were originally released, and the mock-up first displayed, at the 5th HeliRussia exhibition in Moscow in May. The Ka-62 is due to make its maiden flight in August 2013 and will be certified by the Russian authorities from 2015 and, later, by EASA.
