Libyan Militia Hand Over Tripoli Airport

Control of Tripoli's international airport has been handed over to the ruling National Transitional Council after being run by a militia group since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi last year. Libya's busiest airport was returned to the authorities on April 20 by the Zintan militia, which had run it since it reopened in November. Talks on the handover took months as militia members negotiated jobs and salaries from the new Libyan Government. The National Transitional Council is trying to absorb the militias into government organisations.
