The Eurocopter EC225, and its military sibling the EC725, have been a good investment for the helicopter company. Operators, particularly those in the oil and gas sector, have steadily bought the aircraft and there are roughly 130 EC225s and EC725s in service around the world at the beginning of 2012. A further 100 on order are still to be delivered. The 100th aircraft was delivered to the Bristow Group in mid-summer last year - naturally for oil and gas operations.
