No.IV(R) Squadron Re-forms on Hawk T2

On November 24,2011, No.IV(R) Squadron re-formed at RAF Valley on Anglesey equipped with the BAE Systems' Hawk T2. It became responsible for fast jet tactical weapons training, replacing No.l9(R) Squadron which disbanded on the same day. No.IV(R) Squadron previously existed as the Harrier operational conversion unit at RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire, before officially disbanding on January 28, 2011, as part of the drawdown of Harrier operations.
