Dana Air Briefly Grounded

Nigeria's Dana Air suspended services for three days after the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) stopped it flying due to safety concerns with one of its MD-83 passenger jets (5N-JAI, c 53016, ex N968AS). It is understood that the MD-83 suffered an incident with its batteries. Dana Air was allowed to resume flights from March 18, but kept the MD-83 grounded until inspection by Boeing, as the NCAA has directed Dana Air to re-certify the aircraft.
