Ryanair Evaluating MAX Order

Irish budget carrier Ryanair says it will order more than 100 Boeing 737 MAX airliners in the next few months. Michael O'Leary, Chief Executive of the airline, revealed the plan during a ceremony in New York on March 19 to announce its acquisition of another 175 Boeing 737-800s (see Commercial Orders, left). Mr O'Leary said Ryanair has a team working with Boeing on the deal for the new-model 737. He previously criticised the seating plans for the 737 MAX-8, the equivalent of the -800 in the MAX family, stating that 189 was too few.
