The Boeing 757 remains a workhorse more than 30 years after the type's debut and nearly a decade after production ended, with around 800 examples still in use. US network carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines each fly over 100. Other operators include Condor (13), Icelandair (23) and Thomson Airways (15), while the cargo version is used in plentiful numbers too: FedEx Express has 75, DHL Airlines 44 and UPS Airlines 93. "The 757, even today, provides unique capabilities," wrote industry analysts Airlnsight in a 2014 research report. The type has 200-250 seats (or 8,430ft~3/239m~3 capacity in the cargo version), extended range twin operations (ETOPS) over water approval and 3,900 nautical miles (7,200km) of range, rising to 4,100nm (7,600km) in the 757-200W thanks to its Aviation Partners Boeing Blended Winglets.
