Beechcraft Upgrades King Air C90GTx

Beechcraft announced a number of upgrades to the King Air C90GTx at the National Business Aircraft Association Convention in Orlando, Florida. New 8ft (2.4m)-diameter Hartzell swept-blade propellers with a 30° blade sweep provide more take-off and climb thrust. The results are a 25% shorter take-off distance from 2,575ft (784m) to 1,984ft (604m), lower approach speeds and a 10% shorter landing run (from 2,400ft/731m to 2,160ft/658m). Dual aft body strakes have been added to improve directional stability at low speeds, passenger ride quality and handling characteristics. Other improvements include a new highspeed nosewheel tyre, and updates to the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 flight displays. Development and flight-testing were carried out under a joint programme by Beechcraft and Raisbeck Engineering.
