Final Taiwanese Apaches Delivered, Black Hawks to Follow

The final batch of six Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian helicopters flew to the Army Aviation Special Forces base at Tainan on October 19 after being assembled in the nearby port following their voyage from the United States by sea. Taiwan now has 29 Apaches in service after one was lost in a crash in Lontan on April 25. In other news, the country will begin receiving the first batch of six Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawks in mid- December. Sixty UH-60Ls are on order and will be shipped to Taiwan in seven batches, with the final batch arriving in 2018.
