The UK Fails to Impress

On December 19, 2013, BAE Systems announced that the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had advised "that it had elected not to proceed with BAE and UK Government proposals" to supply a range of defence and security capabilities to the Emirates, including (but not limited to) the sale of some 60 Eurofighter Typhoons for the UAE Air Force (UAEAF). It was estimated the deal would have been worth around £6 billion.
