US naval aviation has continually proved its expertise and importance in ongoing and recent conflicts. This success owes a great deal to the quality of flight training given to aircrew by Naval Air Training Command. The fleet aviation forces are assisted by the talents of a capable reserve component which assumes or augments many of the mission areas assigned to the Navy.
