ZIM AIRCRAFT Seating is to provide the seats for a new premium economy class on SWISS International Air Lines' 12 Boeing 777-300ERs.The aircraft will gradually receive the new seats from Q4 2021, with all the jets upgraded for the start of the summer 2022 schedule next April.SWISS claimed that the new class would strengthen "its premium positioning in the growing leisure travel segment" and complement the existing first, business and economy sections of the cabin. Each 777 will be equipped with 24 premium economy seats, each of which is integrated into a fixed backshell to ensure zero intrusion into the personal space of the passenger sitting behind. The seats are 46-48cm wide (depending on their location in the cabin) compared to 43.4cm in economy, with 99cm pitch rather than 78.7cm in economy.
