Cracks were beginning to show in thecompany's vaunted culture. The August 9, 2010 incident was a watershed moment for the carrier. JetBlue's pilots voted to unionise for the first time since the airline was founded, with 71% casting ballots in favour of joining the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). Cabin crew followed suit. Labour costs, unsurprisingly, increased.
