Singapore Airlines has delayed delivery of the final eight Airbus A380s it has on order, according to a release from the carrier dated September 3. Originally, the twelfth would have been handed over next April, but now that airliner will enter service in October 2010. The final example will join the fleet in January 2012, rather than January 2011. The deferral has been sought to curtail excess capacity, rather than because of any problems the airline has experienced with the aircraft.
