RAF gets new batch of Typhoons

At a ceremony in Munich on July 31, 2009, it was announced that the RAF is to receive a further 40 of the latest version of the versatile, multi-role Eurofighter Typhoon under contracts worth around £3 billion. The original Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the four Typhoon partners - Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK - committed the UK to buying 232 aircraft.
