The lighter aircraft types dominated military news at Paris. Making its public debut was the Air Truck AT-802U, an armed version of the AT-802 agricultural and fire fighting aircraft. It was created to meet a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the US Department of Defense in 2007 for a counterinsurgency (COIN) aircraft that could be used by US forces and potentially other countries, probably including Afghanistan and Iraq.
