New Radar For Israeli AS565MA Atalefs

The Israel Air and Space Force (IASF) announced in April a plan to re-equip its Eurocopter AS565MA Atalefs (Bat) maritime helicopters with the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) Elta EL/M-2022H maritime patrol radar system. The EL/M-2022H, known as the Yain Tsalool (Clear Wine) by the IASF, will replacernthe original Telephonics radar in the helicopters, which have been in service since 1996. The IASF flies the Atalefs on behalf of the Israeli Navy for operations from the decks of Saar 5-class (Assault) missile corvettes.
