Tactical Air Support Adversaries at NAS Fallon

Carrier Air Wing 14 (CVW-14) assigned to the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) was supported during its Strike Fighter Advanced Readiness Program (SFARP) at NAS Fallon, Nevada, by aircraft supplied by Tactical Air Support (TAS) Inc, based at Stead Field outside of Reno, Nevada. SFARP prepares a carrier's fighter pilots with intensive training in air combat tactics, and uses assets of the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center over the ranges at NAS Fallon. In addition to the US Navy's own adversary aircraft, TAS operated three Aero Vodochody L-29 Delfins, a Canadair CT-133 Silver Star and IAI Kfir C2s from NAS Fallon to provide realistic opponents to the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornets squadrons.
