It took exactly 10 years from the maiden flight of the first German Eurofighter Development Aircraft, DA1, on March 27, 1994, to the delivery of two-seaters for the primary operational German Air Force unit on April 26, 2004.rnOriginally the German Eurofighter programme comprised 180 aircraft, divided into three major production runs, know as tranches, and with projected delivery until 2017.rnTranche 1 entered production in 2002 with air-to-air capability achieved under the Block 2 aircraft configuration. All Eurofighters delivered in April and May 2004 already possessed the in-flight refuelling package, changes to the electrical system and a software update.
