Litening Pods On Brazilian A-1s

During Exercise Lacador Operation the Brazilian Air Force demonstrated the use of its Rafael Litening precision targeting pods for the first time. Lacador Operation was held in the south of Brazil between November 16 and 27 and involved the air force, army and navy.rnThe pods were acquired in 2006 and can be operated by the Alenia/ Embraer A-1 (AMX) attack aircraft from the third production batch as well as the modernized F-5M Tiger Us fighters. A joint Brazilian and Israeli upgrade is underway for the A-1 fleet, after which all of the fleet will be able to operate precision targeting, electronic warfare and reconnaissance pods, as well as 'smart weapons.
