DLR stated that the design concept for a range of 124 miles (200km) flown using electric power alone is limited by the weight of the batteries, at two tonnes for a total take-off weight of 8,6 tonnes. Range can be extended to more than 621 miles (1,000km) by using two range extenders; gas turbines that can be coupled to and decoupled from the propellers.
