F110 Engines Surpass Ten Million Flight Hours

GE AVIATION'S worldwide fleet of F110-GE-100 engines has surpassed ten million flight hours. They clocked up the time by powering almost 70% of the US Air Force's (USAFs) advanced F-16 Fighting Falcon multi-role fighters, alongside the F-16s in the air force inventories of Bahrain, Chile, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Oman, Turkey and United Arab Emirates. The F110 also powers the Mitsubishi F-2, Japan's indigenous version of the F-16, licence-built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and in service with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, operating in the same role as the Fighting Falcon.
