Czech Republic to order UH-1Y and AH-1Z helicopters

Czech Prime Minister Andrey Babis announced on August 22, 2019, that eight Bell UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters and four AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters would be acquired to replace a number of the Czech Air Force's ageing Russian helicopters. Babis said the UH-1Y and AH-1Z will be acquired under a CZK 15.5 billion foreign military sales contract to replace current Mil Mi-24 and Mi-35 Hind helicopters.
