RAF commences pilot training on Texan T1

The first class of Royal Air Force student pilots to go through basic fast jet training on the new Raytheon T-6C Texan Tl at RAF Valley commenced training on September 16. As part of the UK Military Flying Training System (UK MFTS), Affinity operates a fleet of ten Texans for the RAF from the Welsh base. The aircraft were delivered to Valley between February and December 2018, where they started flying within the Texan Integration Squadron (TIS) on February 21, 2019. The Texans were initially flown by the squadron's flying instructors - a mix of military and civil pilots - who worked on the training syllabus, until the first students arrived in September. The Texan unit is scheduled to deliver six student courses per year.
