Sikorsky S-92s Delivered to Royal Thai Air Force

Sikorsky Aircraft recently delivered three S-92A helicopters to the Royal Thai Air Force. The first two were inducted into the service during a ceremony held at Don Muang Air Base on April 11. Crew training will last six months, during which the helicopters will be based at Lop Buri Air Base with 201 Squadron, 2 Wing, after which they will be transferred to 509 Squadron based in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Two of the aircraft are configured with a VVIP interior and will be used as the personnel transports of the King and Queen of Thailand, while the third is equipped for emergency medical services, including a LifePort medical kit. The aircraft were ordered in October 2007. A total of 136 S-92s have been delivered since September 2004.
