RAAF 'Rhinos' Achieve IOC

Australia's first F/A-18F Super Hornet squadron achieved the type's Initial Operating Capability (IOC) at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland, on December 7, after the delivery of an additional four aircraft from the United States. The Australian Defence Force says that IOC was achieved on time and on budget. The four aircraft comprised the first built, which had been held back in the United States for testing of its Australia-specific VOR/ILS system, and the first three jets wired for possible conversion to EA-18G Growler configuration in the future.
