ISR AFTER AFGHANISTAN

For more than a decade, the demands of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have shaped the Air Force's intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance enterprise. The unique demands of those conflicts have pushed USAF toward an "airborne-centric" ISR architecture-exemplified by flying platforms from the Predator to the U-2-but that's not necess arily the ISR structure needed for the future. So said Lt. Gen. Larry D. James, the Air Force's ISR chief, in his November address to the Air Force Association's Global Warfare Symposium, held in Los Angeles.
